With summer wrapping up, the Seattle Street Jam has ended it with a bang. The Seattle Street Jam is an annual event with scooter riders from the northwest coming in as one group, pushing through the city, stopping at spots, and competing for the best trick at each.

Last years Street Jam route was run by Alex Blome, while prior years were originally planned by Kingsley Okocha who conceived the event in 2012. This year we passed the torch to the PNW’s own OG, Ben Jelinek.

With a route of new spots, people went hard. The first, fourth, and last spots were the craziest to me.

The first spot was the OG red rail, a long fat round rail that has deadly stairs on one side and grass on the other. The tricks that stood out the most to me were Nick Tedricks board slide to precision ride the ledge, and Steeze’s board feeble the ledge.

The fourth spot was a deadly triple kink rail, with a curb to get over right after the rail. The most notable tricks were Nathan Treloar’s whip board, and Lachlan Gaucher’s front 50 - 5-0.

The final spot was a huge 15 stair rail, that almost everyone looked at with their mouth wide open. Ben announced on the megaphone that if no one wanted to do it, then we could go to a new spot. 

What made this rail so gnarly was that where was only about a 4 feet wide run up, and grass and rocks on the other side. 

Right off the bat people started boarding it, but soon it was just two of the best scooter riders now hitting it, Jackson Burkland and Austin Coates. As everyone watches thinking Jackson is going to do some board combo, he comes flying by and wall rides the bricks down the 15, landing perfectly, and at the same time he landed the crowd erupted.

After that, 15 year old Austin Coates came in with a huge, proper backlip that proved his place in the scootering industry.

With Jackson Burkland taking first place, Austin Coates in second, and Nathan Treloar in third, this street jam was a banger.  Jackson split his 1k earnings with the rest of the winners, basically he is the man.  Edit coming soon...
